FinalFinish kit in .243 / 6mm caliber

Among the factors that affect accuracy and fouling in a barrel, these are very influential:

1. Reamer marks in the throat area that result from chambering the barrel
2. Dimensional uniformity
3. Tool marks / surface finish

FinalFinish and FinalFinish TMS will correct/improve all three of the above factors. A typical factory barrel will be improved in all three areas, and even hand-lapped barrels need the chamber reamer marks in the throat corrected to perform to their potential. FinalFinish and FinalFinish TMS will remove the most damaging (to the bullet) tool marks, generating a surface finish that goes WITH the bullet instead of against it, and work out "tight spots" that disrupt the bullet. It is okay to use FinalFinish in chrome-lined AR15 barrels.

[After completing the FinalFinish process, we strongly recommend purchasing a TMS bullet kit or TMS loaded ammo for a preventive maintenance routine. One or two rounds of TMS used every few hundred shots keeps the throat smoothed, which will prolong the accurate life of your barrel. Think of it like changing the oil in your car on a regular basis.]

Detailed instructions are included with each kit.

"FinalFinish has been one of those products that's a sleeping giant: after word started getting around from people who used it, demand increased tremendously, and that continues. It seems that for every kit we ship we get three or four more new orders from the same zip code..."

I bought a Remington 700 CDL SF Limited Edition 6mm Rem., tuned the trigger to 3 lbs, replaced the stock with a HS Precision and bedded it with Acraglass Steelbed for a perfect fit. 3 different 80 grain bullets, 1 100 grain bullet, 4 different powders with 4 powder charge weights per each powder in 80% neck-turned match prepped brass later... the best was .75" 3 shot groups at 100 yds. It fell apart to 2.25" or larger groups at 200 yards. I used the Final Finish system... I cleaned again and headed back to the 100 yard range with the same 80 gr Nosler BT's as before over a progressively heavier dose of Varget (up to maximum in my rifle). The second from the top load caused sticky bolt lift prior to the Tubb lapping process. I've increased the top load another half grain after the lapping process and there is no sign of sticky bolt lift. The max load produced 1/8" and 3/16" ctc 3 shot groups at 100 yards. Impressive. I'll be testing this load at 200 yards and chronographing with my Oehler 35. Prior to lapping, magnification showed a HORRIBLE bore with all types of machine marks and it fouled badly. Post-lapping shows the finish of the barrel to be the equal of a nearly new Broughton 5C barrel on my .300 WSM and cleaning is much easier than before. Cleaned between grits with Gunslick foaming cleaner, a patch of Hoppes #9 copper solvent and recommended oversize bronze brush. VLD reamed case-mouth IDs. Seated regular bullets and pulled them to expand the case neck before seating Tubb bullets to avoid scraping off the lapping material with the case-mouths. Excellent product.
